Horseshoe Resort

A few weeks back Karen found a very good deal on a Horseshoe Resort package at Groupon.com $65 for a one-day Summer Access pass for two people plus one extra zipline ride per person ($114 value) I was soo excited because I never got a chance to try a LONG zipline ever 😛 Tho we went thru a few obstacles that was prevent us to go due to the weather condition on previous weekends but we finally went!!! First impression of the resort is quite huge, mini golf, rock climbing, treetop treking, pony ride, archery, trampoline, zipline, that hamster ball thingie and etc.

Of course the first thing we tried was the zipline because it was still kind of early and we didn’t know how bad the lineup was. Anyways, the lift up hill was a little scary, although it is the same one they use during winter time but it did feel higher 😛 Once we arrived the top, then walked about 5 mins and there it was, the zipline… We had to put on all the gear at the bottom of the zipline tower, then had to carry everything to the top of the tower, it was like a torture to me because, the gear we had on was heavy, a long walk up the tower and I could feel the tower was shaking when I got up higher… Over all zipline experience was amazing, tho I wished we didn’t have to walk up that tower 😛

Sadly, we were very disappointed about the archery, it was more like a kids thing and later, we also found the activities would suit kids more than adults. Didn’t really try rock climbing because I didn’t want to embarrass myself in front of all the people LOL Anyways, I would definitely go back for their treetop climbing because we didn’t get to try that, zipline was fun the first time, but ones you did it, I don’t think it’s fun anymore hehe This place is perfect for a family to spend a day but staying for a night I don’t think its worth the money really 🙂

kintori yakitori

Thanks to Karen, Cheryl and Minnie for this wonderful birthday dinner treat at Kintori Yakitori which is located on the second floor of Kinton Ramen 2, 668 Bloor Street West, Toronto.  Another izakaya style (居酒屋) restaurant but the atmosphere is very different from the ones I have tried.  Usually when you go to a Japanese izakaya restaurant, it would be very loud and noisy from the employees non stop greetings or the customers, but this restaurant is more on the elegant side.  Food was fantastic, not as salty as the other places and there are also parking spaces right outside of the restaurant as well, perfect place if you want to enjoy a night with a few people and able chat 🙂  The place is tiny and busy, so if you are thinking about going, you should make a reservation.

SONG Cook’s

Anita and her daughter came back to Toronto for a short visit, so we decided to call our long lost friend Cindy to join us for a small gathering dinner at SONG Cook’s located on Yonge and Steeles W, one of my favorite kind of restaurant, Korean!  Yay!!!  Most people know, I love spicy food, so I couldn’t wait to try this place out 😛  Entrance looks very unique, inside is spacious and you also get to choose to sit at the regular tables and chairs side or tatami (a type of mat used as a flooring material in traditional Japanese-style rooms)

Well, this is spicy food, so I am going to say everything taste delicious right off my head even I haven’t put anything into my mouth HAHA.  But really, everything tasted extremely good, noodles (JengBan JaJang) was chewie, just the way I like it, pork ribs dish (MuGunji Pork Ribs) tasted amazing, the pig foot (Five Spices Jokbai) was totally different from anything I have tried and tons more…  I love this place, not only because of the yummy food, also because of this place DOESN’T smell 🙂  Definitely have to try this place if you are craving Korean 😛

BIG BBQ 2014

Is it a tradition or not?  A BIG BBQ at Cheryl’s house, this year we had 30+ people attended, a little less than last year but still pretty big 🙂  I missed a few previous parties so I was really looking forward to see my friends that I haven’t seen for a long time.  One special guest, Anita and her daughter came back from Hong Kong for a short visit.

I remember back in the days, we used to drink (alcohol) like crazy but we are not in our 20s now, so we didn’t drink much this time, hehe  The weather was super nice, we actually had concerns that it might rain but it didn’t, tons of food, lots of catching up with each others and of course it was a total madness with the kids playing bubbles 😛  At the end of the night, our stomachs were filled, some even got take out because there was just soo much food left, I couldn’t even describe the level of fun we had, just take a look at the smile/laugh in my pictures.  Huge thanks to Auntie for preparing everything and of course Cheryl for making this to happen 🙂  Hopefully we can have another party like this on the next weekend, hehe

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is the newest and most anticipated attraction in the heart of downtown Toronto, next to the CN Tower. As Canada’s largest indoor aquarium, we welcome you to the Waters of the World!  I wanted to visit this place for a quite a while but I never did because I was told the place is always packed with people.  Luckily, Karen and Marcus were willing to go on a weekday when it was less packed, so I went along.  My first impression of the place was, woah, the place is huge, and with all the people it was hard to breath 😛  Anyways, tons of sea life everywhere, lots of things to see, saw a of of things that I had never seen before like giant size crabs and lobsters, scared the shit of of me.  Sharks, stingrays and millions of different fishies swimming above our heads and surroundings.  Overall, it was a very good experience but the air quality was a little poor, considered with all the people around and the fishie smell you know 😛   Well, I would say this is something that you would only go once, hehe

If you are interested to see more pictures of this whole experience, I have them on my Facebook link here https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152543539655211.1073741838.689775210&type=1&l=b4adbdd50a
