Horseshoe Resort

A few weeks back Karen found a very good deal on a Horseshoe Resort package at Groupon.com $65 for a one-day Summer Access pass for two people plus one extra zipline ride per person ($114 value) I was soo excited because I never got a chance to try a LONG zipline ever 😛 Tho we went thru a few obstacles that was prevent us to go due to the weather condition on previous weekends but we finally went!!! First impression of the resort is quite huge, mini golf, rock climbing, treetop treking, pony ride, archery, trampoline, zipline, that hamster ball thingie and etc.

Of course the first thing we tried was the zipline because it was still kind of early and we didn’t know how bad the lineup was. Anyways, the lift up hill was a little scary, although it is the same one they use during winter time but it did feel higher 😛 Once we arrived the top, then walked about 5 mins and there it was, the zipline… We had to put on all the gear at the bottom of the zipline tower, then had to carry everything to the top of the tower, it was like a torture to me because, the gear we had on was heavy, a long walk up the tower and I could feel the tower was shaking when I got up higher… Over all zipline experience was amazing, tho I wished we didn’t have to walk up that tower 😛

Sadly, we were very disappointed about the archery, it was more like a kids thing and later, we also found the activities would suit kids more than adults. Didn’t really try rock climbing because I didn’t want to embarrass myself in front of all the people LOL Anyways, I would definitely go back for their treetop climbing because we didn’t get to try that, zipline was fun the first time, but ones you did it, I don’t think it’s fun anymore hehe This place is perfect for a family to spend a day but staying for a night I don’t think its worth the money really 🙂

BIG BBQ 2014

Is it a tradition or not?  A BIG BBQ at Cheryl’s house, this year we had 30+ people attended, a little less than last year but still pretty big 🙂  I missed a few previous parties so I was really looking forward to see my friends that I haven’t seen for a long time.  One special guest, Anita and her daughter came back from Hong Kong for a short visit.

I remember back in the days, we used to drink (alcohol) like crazy but we are not in our 20s now, so we didn’t drink much this time, hehe  The weather was super nice, we actually had concerns that it might rain but it didn’t, tons of food, lots of catching up with each others and of course it was a total madness with the kids playing bubbles 😛  At the end of the night, our stomachs were filled, some even got take out because there was just soo much food left, I couldn’t even describe the level of fun we had, just take a look at the smile/laugh in my pictures.  Huge thanks to Auntie for preparing everything and of course Cheryl for making this to happen 🙂  Hopefully we can have another party like this on the next weekend, hehe

0109 Dessert & Chocolate

0109 Dessert & Chocolate, not too often that you find a dessert place which is in a Chinese community, mostly because we Asians don’t like sweets. Luckily enough we picked out this place and it turned out pretty good, most dessert are not too sweet like some restaurants, their stuffs are pretty light in a good way, thumbs up! I would definitely go back just because of their cream brulee but beware because you probably need to make a reservation ahead of time because the place is packed with people unless you go early.

ZAKKUSHI (Japanese Yakitori Izakaya)

It’s that time of year again, To celebrate Karen birthday, we picked ZAKKUSHI a Japanese izakaya located in downtown Toronto. I actually passed by this place a few times and never knew this place is actually quite nice and spacious. The atmosphere is bascially like the other izakaya, once you go in they would greet you loudly and food are mostly BBQ stuffs. In my opinion, food is not the greatest compare to some others but still a very good place to try, as long as the fun factor is there, everything should be good B-) We did make a reservation because we had quite a lot of people but even if you have only a couple, I think you should make one too because this place is also very packed most of the time.

Pre celebrate Jason’s Birthday at O Mei

It was the time of the year when we celebrate friends’ birthday over dinner, O Mei has always been a very solid Chinese restaurant for a perfect dinner.  Did I mention seafood is O Mei’s specialty as specially Lobsters, 4 different dishes can be made out of a 6 pound lobsters, but of course, they also have a great varieties of food choices.  I don’t think I need to say much about the food because everyone knows that it is one of the best Chinese restaurant in Toronto, tho we didn’t order a lot because we only had a few people but the choices we had was excellent as expected, eg. our super tasty lobster 😛  Oh, almost forgot to mention, they have very good Chinese style dessert too!!!  The night was amazing, being with good friends over dinner is always enjoyable and at the end of the night, we left with a full stomach, big smile and joy 🙂

here is another O Mei post from before in case you want to see more 🙂
