Cuba Day7 Video

The day started late because I was soo hammered the night before…  of course, it was another relaxing day for us, breakfast, then the pool, then lunch.  But in the afternoon, Estella was tired and wanted to nap in her room and Paul’s sun allergy was getting worse so he also went back to his room.  The only one left was Mary and I so we decided to go to the beach and nap there :p  It was soo relaxing with my 1 hour nap on the beach, then we headed back, changed, ate dinner, watched a show and made the night short because we had to pack and got ready to go back to Toronto the next day.

Cuba Day6 Video

Sunny day but a little windy at first.  We decided to spend the whole day on the pool and the beach.  Of course there was a lot of drinking along with my sun tanning.  It was actually kind of nice to see people enjoying the resort, so relaxing…  nothing special happened that day because my idea was to get drunk the whole day and I didn’t even remember how many drinks I had at the end of the night really :p

Cuba Day5 Video

The day started with a cloudy sky and our half day tour with a new local tour guide in Varadero.  Firstly we headed to so they called a crystal cave and we thought it was supposed to be amazing.  We had to wait a little because we got there a little to early, so took a small walk around the area, then we found out that we had to pay to bring our cameras inside and we had to leave our bags in a locker…  Anyways, at the end, we didnt bring anything inside but a flash light.

Once we were inside the cave, it wasn’t anything like we were told, we saw crystals and stuffs but it was soo dark, wet, muddy and dirty…  and we were told that there was only one kind of creatures that lived in the cave, Cockroaches…  I was like, what the fuck…  So while we were inside, we were just pointing the flash light to the ground and the walking was very long.  The whole feeling was like walking under a sewer…  Anyways, just a reminder not to go there if you have a chance to go to Cuba :p

After the cave thing, we were brought to a local market just to see how the locals live.  The food market was like the market in Hong Kong 30 years ago, dirty, smells and flies everywhere…  Of course we didn’t stay long because the look from the local people was very weird…  Anyhow, it was a good experience after all

We went back to our resort for lunch after some gifts shopping at a shopping center close to our resort.  We sat down and thought we could finally relax since we finished the 3 days tour then something happened while we were having our lunch.  A tourist who sat 2 tables away from us had a heart attack and died in front of our eyes…  There were people doing CPR and stuffs but he didn’t make it…  Our mood was very down and we decided to spend sometime on the pool and beach to cheer the mood up after everything that happened.

At the end, we made it a short night after our dinner, watched a show in the resort, spent sometime in the disco and played chess with Mary and Estella then call it the night.

Cuba Day4 Video

With our tired bodies because of the weak air conditioning, we had to get up early, met up with the tour guides at the lobby and checked out.  It was another beautiful sunny but HOT weather 🙁  The goal of the day was to go to Guama and it took about 2 hours to get there.  Once we got there, we took a boat ride to an island which located about 20 mins from the dock and  the boat ride was very fun.  After the boat ride, we realized the sun was very very strong and the temperature was super high but didn’t realize that while we were in the middle of the lake.  Anyhow, we walked around the island and learned about how the Indians lived and stuff, then we hit a storm right on top of us.  Luckily, storms in Cuba wont take long, so we were only stuck there for about 30 mins then we started heading back along with the wavy water.

After lunch, we went to see the zoo thing there, mainly the crocodiles then we started heading back to Varadero.  While we were on the way back, we hit a huge rain storm, which was very rare because it doesn’t happen very often in Cuba.    So the 2 hours ride back was rainy, in fact, it was raining all day in our resort in Varadero too.  In a way, it was good because we finally could get some cooler temperature instead :p

Cuba Day3 Video

We headed to Havana City on day 3, we got up really early in the morning to meet up with the cab driver.  It took us around 2 hours to get to Havana and met up with our Chinese tour guide at the hotel we were going to stay that night.  It was their policy that we had to have another Spanish/English speaking tour guide to come with us which I think is kind of weird.  Anyways, we did take a good look at the city and we went to a lot of places on our first day, I can’t say it was fun because the weather was super hot and we didn’t expect we had to walk soo much in one day.  Surprisingly, there were soo many police in the places we went to, I don’t know why but at least we felt very secured :p

After the long day of sweating and walking, we finally headed back to our hotel at about 4:00  Once we got to our rooms, we find out the hotel condition was way under our expectation.  Air conditioning was enough, no hot water, only little water in the shower, the swimming pool was old and small, the beach area was way too dirty and even the food was bad…  I don’t know if that’s the same with most of the hotels there but it was a really bad experience for us.

We did walk around the are a little after our dinner, then we headed back to our rooms and decided to just chat instead of going anywhere…  what a drag 🙁  But anyhow, there were some nice places we visited and I had put together 3 long videos below.  Enjoy 😀
