Old friends gathering at 華星餐廳 (Chi Star House)

Woah, it had been a long time since we had a gathering with my old colleagues from Logic.  Julian’s came back and brought our old buddies back together once again, woah, when I think about it, it has already been 5 years!!!  Just like old times, everyone haven’t changed much, we talk LOUD and laugh LOUD, Thomas is fat, Ray is wearing T-shirt ONLY during cold weather, Darlie has his goatee still, Cherry laughs all the time, Doris is annoying, Stephen still tries to be funny and Julian looks like Julian 5 years ago still :-P.  華星餐廳 (Chi Star House) was a perfect place to have a nice dinner in a VIP room.  Food was nice but of course we all enjoyed our chatting more than anything hehe.

一品魚湯 (Fish Shop Supreme)

new picture uploaded 1 Apr 2013
一品魚湯 (Fish Shop Supreme) is located at 633 Silver Star Blvd. Unit#125 Scarborough (Kennedy and Steeles) is a Chinese noodles specialist restaurant which was opened not long ago. Some people would run away when they hear the name “fish” because not everyone like the taste or smell of it, including me but I was told there is no MSG on everything they have, so I got try it out. When I first entered, I totally fell in love with the design of the interior, really didn’t expect a Chinese restaurant would put that much afford for such a pretty design nowadays 😛 Anyways, the menu was very simple, you can order whatever combination you want, different soup base, noodles and toppings and of course, I ordered the fish soup base (魚湯) to try it out. As it turned out, I finished the whole bowl of noodles and soup, my one of my friends almost licked his bowl clean too, so yeah, it was that good really 😛 Price wise, umm… it’s a little more than other places ($10ish) but it was well worth it. They do have a dinner menu too so I am hoping I will try it out someday too if I have a chance but so far, its a thumbs up for me 😀

Spoon & Fork Japanese. Thai…

Spoon & Fork Japanese. Thai… is yet another Franchise restaurant located in Ontario which serves all you can eat Japanese & Thai buffet and the one located in Vaughan which is probably the closest nearby from Toronto area. All my friends know that I don’t go to buffets often but their Thai food sounded very promising too so I had to give it a try. As usual, I would order mostly cooked dishes instead of sashimi in a Japanese buffets because you can’t really expect too much from all you can eat sashimi/sushi. And I was right, all of their cooked dishes were well made and delicious just like something you can find in a fine diner, which you know they put their heart into everything that they made and I didn’t expect from a buffet style restaurant really 😛 BUT one thing I found very annoying was the portion, an order of a main course dish is really a main course portion, so if you order one of their specialty noodles, they would get you a full plate of it, umm… and that would make your stomach full right away… that is why if you want to try more different varieties of their food, you should go as a group to share. As you can tell from the pictures I took, I went with a friend so we didn’t get to try EVERYTHING 😛 well, self noted hehe

松田日本料理 Matsuda Japanese Cuisine

I haven’t had all you can eat Japanese buffet for years and my friend asked me to try this one because it is a quite famous one in Scarborough area, 松田日本料理 Matsuda Japanese Cuisine.  As usual, I order things differently in Japanese buffets, I would order cooked food a lot more than raw like sushi and sashimi because I think in an all you can eat buffet restaurant, sushi and sashimi would only be ok.  So to really test out the true quality of the restaurant, I ordered quite a lot of the cooked food 😀  The end result was not bad for the price, for $22 dinner, the food was very satisfying, everything I tried was good, surprisingly, the dessert was quite good too.  This is a perfect place for gathering for sure, did I mention the wait time without reservation?  I got there at 830, was told to wait 75 mins…  anyways, this is one of the reasons why you have to try this restaurant at least once, with that long of a wait time, it’s got to be good right?  hehe 😀  And don’t forget to make a reservation first, their no. is 416.298.2998, enjoy 😀
