Richmond Hill Ribfest 2013

Surprise surprise, this ribfest is turning into a children playfest more than a ribfest really 😛  As most of the people know, the size of the food area is always smaller than Markham ribfest, mostly the same people/restaurants, music is always good, but the play area is getting bigger and bigger each year.  Didn’t really eat anything there this time but I really wanted to enjoy this event in a good weather. While I was walking towards to the main area, I was totally surprised by the amount of rides they had for kids, rides everywhere, even rock climbing really??  And why would they sell beer cheaper than the other ribfest?!?!  In conclusion assuming if they are doing the same next year, looking for food, you should definitely go Markham, want to spend a day with your kids, Richmond Hill is the place hehe.

Main Street Unionville (cloudy/rainy photo shots)

I didn’t expect with a cloudy weather Saturday I would manage to come up with a few good pictures, guess it doesn’t have to be sunny to get that achievement hehe.  I haven’t taken any pictures outdoor in a cloudy day for a long long time and the result was not bad.  I love photography, don’t want to be a professional but I am trying a lot different types just for fun.  Practice is what I need and I am sure I will do a lot of that this summer.  Every experience begins with a start, feel free to comment because I will definitely need that to improve my skills hehe.

St. Jacobs Flea Market

Call me a noob, can you believe after all these years living in Toronto, I had never been to St. Jacobs?  The weather wasn’t the greatest, just a little rain which was perfect because the hot weather would probably kill me outdoor :-P.  There were actually a few surprises went I got there, the size of the Flea Market is so huge, soo many amish people, the place was totally packed at 10 in the morning and a tourist hot spot.  Compare to the flea market I had been to, the biggest difference I noticed was probably the indoor area, tons of unique shops and food counters, I was amazed by those specialty food counters lineups, outside area was more like a festival/farmers market/shops and not to mention there is also an antique area too on the other side of the street.  It was a very good experience overall, everyone was soo friendly, as a city boy that wanted to get away from concrete, this is definitely a place to go from time to time because of the calm atmosphere 🙂

Markham RibFest 2013

Yup, it is that time of the year again, RIBs!!!  I love to eat, tho I always watch out what I put in my mouth, but who can resist the juiciness of oily/greasy grilled meat!!!  Got there before 6 because usually parking is a bitch after 6 and we were right.  Overall, it wasn’t as good as before, everything used to be very strong tasted, instead everything tasted light, umm, it could be my taste buds wearing out or something, but I will definitely go try again in 2 weeks for the Richmond Hill one at Richmond Green 😛

Cherry Blossoms 2013

Perfect timing for a perfect cherry blossoms at High Park Toronto and all Sakura trees are now in full bloom!!!  I remember the last time I was there was 3 years ago when it was almost at the end of the season which I thought it was amazing already but this time, I really know how amazing cherry blossoms can be in real.  It was a Sunday afternoon where the sun was in full blast and no clouds around, cars were stuck in traffics and people were totally packed the area.  It was a scene where I thought half of the people who lived in Toronto were there enjoying this cherry blossoms.

A cool tip for all of you if you are planning to go this coming week or even in the future, parking was a pain in the ass from what I saw, but did you know that there is a TTC subway station just around the corner with parking and its free during the weekends?!  Yup, its free, tons of parking spaces and that’s where we parked.

Anyways, it was another cool experience seeing it first hand, the day went by so fast that we ended up walking for almost 5 hrs in total.  Conclusion, hot, tiring and super annoyed at the playground near the end of the park where we stayed a little bit for the kids to play…
