Horrible experience with my insurance broker (CIS Insurance inc.)

As most of the people know I had a car accident about 3 weeks ago, and in the last 3 weeks, I really had a horrible experience with my insurance broker (CIS Insurance inc.).  Let me tell you why, here is the break down:

  • 28 Feb:  car got hit by someone running a red light at around 12ish pm, right after the car accident, called my insurance broker a few times, no one answered and he didn’t even have a voice mail…  then found him after I got back him finally and asked me not to do anything and wait for his call and he ended up giving a auto body shop (sunnyside autos) no. and that was it…  so I called…
  • 01 Mar:  at 8ish in the morning, sunnyside called and asked me to release the car from the pound to avoid the charges from the pound…  right after, there were calls from another body shop (bodylines) the tow company suggested along with many many calls from the tow company and sunnyside pushing me to release the vehicle so I call the broker…  was told to go with sunnyside because they would take care of everything after…  at the end, I chose bodylines because they are much bigger so I trust them instead.  Of course I told my broker about it and he voice changed and said I choose whoever I wanted and I did.  AND he asked me to write a report of the whole car accident so they can send it to my insurance company (Lombard) so I did that too.  Not to mention, I had to pick up a rental car that I arranged myself…  Anyways, the whole day was crazy for me…
  • 03 Mar:  I called my broker again to find out what was going on in the morning and he said he would definitely find out what was going on cuz I hadn’t heard from anyone for at least a day.  Hours later, his assistant called and left me a message in POOR ENG that I could hardly understand…  just as I was listening to the message, the adjuster called and told me the house no. they had was wrong (old house no.) but I had moved over 4 years to this new house, so the broker didn’t update my info…  WTF…  oh, and the adjuster told me she got the report from CIS…  Yeah…  I made that…
  • 04 Mar:  The adjuster called and needed more info from me, trust me, it was long…  was also told that they would send someone there to find out how much the damage was and would decide whether if they would fix the car or not…
  • 08 Mar:  I had to go to the body shop to pick up all the personal belongings because was told that the car was a write off and they would have to send me a cheque instead…  no price yet btw…
  • 10 Mar:  The Adjuster called and told me how much they would give me and it was a long talk to get the price I really wanted, not to mention the faxes and the sites I sent out to the adjuster to support me…
  • 12 Mar:  returned the rental…
  • 15 Mar:  called my insurance broker to find out if I needed to file a cancellation of my insurance policy and what it would cost for my other car since there would be only 1 car insured instead of 2…  and fuck, he said I had to write a letter to them so they can send a cancellation request to Lombard and asked me to do that first or there was noway to find out the rest…  SO I did the letter…
  • 17 Mar:  writing this blog, very pissed…  why?  You guys realize my broker didn’t do shit over this accident…  I had to do everything myself…  Type my own report to Lombard?  If I need to do that, why not I just send it to Lombard, why the fuck to CIS?  A fucking cancellation letter?  The fucking car was a write off, what if I don’t write it, should I still pay the fucking insurance for a GHOST car?  Having a broker should be like having a helper that cares, but they don’t fucking care about you after you bought the policy.  It’s totally retarded…

Anyways, this is not the first time…  last year I had to do a claim of my house because of a huge storm damaged my house…  another long story…  hell, accident doesn’t happen very often, when it does, you definitely want someone that cares, that was my first serious claim in like 15+ years with CIS and that’s what I got, umm…  So is there a reason why we buy insurance thru brokers?  umm..  I wonder if he will call and tell me how much my insurance will cost now for my other car, well, guess I will have to call them instead fuck…

Anyways, enough typing here really, I DON’T recommend people to get their insurance at CIS but I know there are still some nice people in there, just don’t get it with PETER SZE, that’s my fucking broker btw…  didn’t think I would mention his name?  like I fucking care cuz I am planning to switch to somewhere anyways, lol, anyways, please spread out the words for me and show the power of internet :p
