LAKEVIEW Restaurant

Located in heart of downtown Toronto, Ossington ave. area, LAKEVIEW Restaurant (1132 / 1134 Dundas Street W), an old school vintage diner which had been restored in its historic 1932 style to serve traditional and re-invented diner classics and comfort food.  It was also featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-ins & Dives highlighting popular menu items like Freedom Toast and the Apple Pie Milkshake. (YouTube link here)

Well the style is surely different from other restaurants, especially that Captain Canuck character you see everywhere inside (tons of syrup bottles that they sell), they even give you a comic book featuring Captain Canuck.  Food was great, typical western bar food like with some specialty dishes, it’s worth to try it at least ones but it does come with a price for their good food, I found most of the food a little greasy.  Some people like and some people don’t 😛

Montreal

After so many years living in Toronto, can you believe this was my very first time being in Montreal?!  First thing I noticed when started entering the area, everything is in French (no surprise), the roads, traffic lights, buildings, even the parking meters are different, very interesting!!  I just couldn’t resist to start off doing one of my favorites, “shopping”, spent quite a long time hanging out downtown checking out those unique shops.  As I was also told, food taste a lot better no matter which restaurant I go in, went in a few random restaurants/cafes, of course I have proven it is not a myth at all and the price is very inexpensive as well.

Overall, I love Montreal, nothing is alike Toronto, feels like there is life in every corners, not to mention you can get Alcohol anywhere including gas station hehe.  I really don’t mind going back there for more visits but the long driving hours…  Might try flying or taking the train next time, could also be fun 🙂

Good Friday 2015 (Ly 婆婆生日)

Thanks for the most wonderful house birthday party ever, James’ mother Mrs. Ly 婆婆生日party!!! My first time ever entered a birthday party with a THEME, the whole family came up an idea to put all the places that the mother had traveled into a party, how thoughtful and sweet?!  Also first time seeing a roasted pig that was about the size of a person, thanks to Richard, and of course the great food and drinks from the sisters!!!

The happiest person at the party was definitely Mrs. Ly 婆婆, the whole family and friends were there, and I don’t know why but when I went up to her with a birthday greeting, she laughed so hard, it was such a joy to see :-).

Tho it was my first time meeting the family but it was soo comforting and I had such an amazing time, super great party!!!  And of course, Happy Birthday to Mrs. Ly 婆婆, 生日快樂, 年年有今日, 歲歲有今朝!

AUTOSHOW 2015 (Family Day)

You know, it has been a LONG while since my last AUTOSHOW visit and I can’t even remember when it was really…  Luckily, I got a free pass to the show so I figured why not spend a day there while everywhere was closed that day 😛   It has gotten a lot bigger than what I remembered, lot more cars and a hell lot more people for sure.  I love cars but I am only interested to see the ones that I can afford, unlike some people, dying to see those out of this world kind of cars.  It is also a perfect place to take pictures of my favorites but I found a few weird moments that I didn’t really understand at the show, anyways, here they are 🙂

Will I go again next year?  Probably not, I will wait for another 10 years maybe 😉
