蘿蔔糕 (Chinese Carrot Cake) (Corolla 篇)

First, thanks Corolla for showing ME and letting me record how to make 蘿蔔糕 (Chinese Carrot Cake).  For the ingredient, you can see it on the video below at about 8:48.  Anyhow, I didn’t expect something you can find in almost every restaurants so easily and it takes soo long to make.  We went to the supermarket, bought everything we needed, then started at about 1pm and we finished at around 3:30  Anyway, just watch this video and pretty much you will get everything about this  蘿蔔糕 (Chinese Carrot Cake) 😀

Baking fun

This baking party started with me and Corolla teaching Paulina how to bake a banana cake, yes, Paulina bakes the first time and she was writing notes on and off non stop as always, hehe  Putting the cake together didn’t take long, and baking it took 50 mins, the longest was to wait for it to cool down.  Then, it was Joyce’s turn to make those almond crunch, that didn’t take long either and it was very easy to make.  At the end of the day, my house was full of happy faces especially Joyce because she got 2 bags of almond crunch and my banana cake to take home with, that really made my day 😀  Here are some pictures I took from my cel phone, please enjoy 😀

Hotpot at my house (師奶篇)

As most the people know, my parents are in Asia for their vacation right now, so I have the house all by myself.  I already had a few nights playing video game with friends already, so here is the first big parties I arranged weeks ago , hotpot dinner with aunties!!!  Everyone was excited when I told them my mom and dad were leaving because they don’t have vacations that often these days  :p  Me and Corolla bought most of the food the day before the party, so the preparation was pretty relaxing since I had 2 days to do so hehe.  The night started with abalone slices (鮑魚片) as appetizer, then followed with all kinds of food as you can see in the video below :p, Corolla made dessert as always (南北杏雪耳木瓜糖水) and so did I (Banana Cake 香蕉蛋糕) hehe.  Of course everyone had a good time and I am sure there will be more parties like this in the coming weeks before my parents come back 🙂  Anyhow, please enjoy this 師奶篇 video because it doesn’t happen very often in my life :p

HotPot at Queenie’s House

After the noodles dinner at Queenie’s house previous week. she was nice enough to invite me again for a hotpot dinner.  Yummm, hotpot 😀  Here is a definition of hotpot:

Hot pot (Chinese: 火鍋; pinyin: huǒ guō), less commonly Chinese fondue or steamboat, refers to several East Asian varieties of stew, consisting of a simmering metal pot of stock at the center of the dining table. While the hot pot is kept simmering, ingredients are placed into the pot and are cooked at the table. Typical hot pot dishes include thinly sliced meat, leafy vegetables, mushrooms, wontons, egg dumplings, and seafood. The cooked food is usually eaten with a dipping sauce. In many areas, hot pot meals are often eaten in the winter.

It was a about gathering fun really 😀  Enjoy 😀
