Focaccia Restaurant

Focaccia Restaurant, a very tiny and simple Italian restaurant (1 chef and 1 waiter, really!) located in downtown Toronto, 17 Hayden St. (Bloor and Yonge).  Never thought I would find amazing food in a restaurant this size (18 seats) but I did, their menu is very very simple, but everything I tried tasted just right, for just $20 per person for their Prix Fixe Menu, you have to give this place a try.  Oh oh, don’t forget, you HAVE to try their pasta because it tasted the best in my opinion, cooked just right, well seasoned and very chewy, probably the best pasta I ever had really 🙂

beerbistro

What a relaxing beautiful restaurant with lots of beer to choose from “beerbistro”, located in downtown Toronto on King St. east.  Didn’t really expect the place would be packed on an early Friday night but it was true.  We got there around 6 and it was packed already and the atmosphere was pretty good with tons of people.  I was told one of their specialty food was actually potato fries which they use the fat from the ducks for deep frying, tho they look like new york fries BUT they really tasted a lot better.  I was also told that they even use beers as part of the ingredients for their food, something different and they tasted well.  Prices are alright, consider its a restaurant in a busy area downtown Toronto.  Not a bad choice especially if you have a group of people to enjoy different kinds of beers and have a great time 🙂

Labour Day Weekend – Niagara Falls, Port Dover and Stratford

I was being a super adventurist myself over the weekend, believe it or not, I went exploring a few places away from Toronto.  First stop, Niagara Falls, the weather was good enough Friday night so I could witness the pretty Labour day fire works at the falls.  Totally love the energy there because the whole area was packed with people, made everything to be even more exciting.  One thing I noticed tho, the rest of the town was VERY dead, LOL.  Next stop was Port Dover, which is about 1 hour driving from Hamilton, north shore of Lake Erie.  A very unique and relaxing area which includes a beautiful beach, great view of the lake, plus misc. interesting shops and restaurants around the area.  Oh and did you know, on every Friday the 13th, all the bikers will gather up at Port Dover to hang out, it would be quite a scene to witness I am sure and the next Friday the 13th is next month, umm, should I go see it?  hehe  Final stop, Stratford, another very unique small town filled with Arts which is a little more than 1 hour driving from Hamilton.  Once you enter the town, you would notice the buildings are filled with colors and there are really tons to see there, including a few performing theaters, tons of specialty shops and restaurants, etc.  Anyways, there are a lot of things I can’t really put into words, but I did take some pretty pictures to share 🙂

I have tons more pictures on my facebook if you are interested to see, go here https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151830704460211.1073741830.689775210&type=1&l=f3ea489739

Sony Bluetooth madness!!

I am always a Bluetooth fan, most of my gadgets have Bluetooth connectivity built in, and yes, another temptation drove me nuts again.  A Sony Bluetooth Headphones (DRBTN200W) and a Sony Bluetooth Wireless Mobile Speaker (SRSBTV5W), all I wanted to get was the headsets because the other Bluetooth headsets that I use at work don’t work so well, so it was a perfect excuse for me to get a new pair AND I found this bundle deal, an added bonus little Bluetooth mobile speaker… which I totally fell in …  Anyways, I was pretty impressed with the sound quality of the headsets compare to my old ones, still trying to figure out how long the batteries would actually last, guess I will know it soon 😛  I was extremely surprised the sound quality of the little mobile speaker, I have tried a few other brands but they all sound horrible, but this one has bass and everything, I strongly recommend this to people if you are looking to buy something similar, tho it costs more but I think it’s well worth the money 🙂

BuskerFest 2013 on Yonge St.

I was told this was the biggest street performer festival in North America and this year they had moved to downtown Toronto, a huge part of Yonge st. was totally shut down for this so I had to check it out.  There wasn’t really a lot of people there in the morning, but the place started to fill up in the afternoon and into the night.  I was actually a little disappointed, tho they had a lot of performers there but some acts were actually the same and it was kind of impossible to watch the performers when the crowd got soo packed, all I saw was the back of the people’s head 😛  Overall, 40% of the whole area was filled with performers and 60% was just people selling food/drinks/stuffs…  Ummm, should I go again next year?  If you are looking for something to do with friends, yes, if you are looking to see amazing performers, the answer is really a no 😛
