Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is the newest and most anticipated attraction in the heart of downtown Toronto, next to the CN Tower. As Canada’s largest indoor aquarium, we welcome you to the Waters of the World!  I wanted to visit this place for a quite a while but I never did because I was told the place is always packed with people.  Luckily, Karen and Marcus were willing to go on a weekday when it was less packed, so I went along.  My first impression of the place was, woah, the place is huge, and with all the people it was hard to breath 😛  Anyways, tons of sea life everywhere, lots of things to see, saw a of of things that I had never seen before like giant size crabs and lobsters, scared the shit of of me.  Sharks, stingrays and millions of different fishies swimming above our heads and surroundings.  Overall, it was a very good experience but the air quality was a little poor, considered with all the people around and the fishie smell you know 😛   Well, I would say this is something that you would only go once, hehe

If you are interested to see more pictures of this whole experience, I have them on my Facebook link here https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152543539655211.1073741838.689775210&type=1&l=b4adbdd50a

楓林閣海鮮酒家 (Fung Lam Court Chinese Restaurant)

It’s the time of the year to have a birthday celebration dinner with Cheryl, 楓林閣海鮮酒家 (Fung Lam Court Chinese Restaurant) on Kennedy and Denison st.  It had been a long time since me and my friends had a gathering so I was super excited to see them and looking forward to try this place out 🙂  東瓜盅 was the main reason why we chose the place, but I was also told that they had a lot of featured dishes as well, don’t really know the names of them in English but just take a look at the pictures below for reference.  Very typical Chinese restaurant, the 東瓜盅 was pretty unique, had a lot of different stuffs in it (shrimp, pork etc.) all the other dishes we ordered tasted not bad, not really over the top, well, considered the price is very inexpensive you know 😛 but I would still recommend this to friends or to my aunties for big gatherings 😛

WorldPride 2014 Toronto

WorldPride 2014 Toronto, this was probably the biggest event that happened in Toronto in years, millions of people, tons of things to see and lots of fun.  I had never been to a pride in person, this was my first ever and I got to say, it was awesome!  A few streets were closed, Tho sun was strong, a little bit on the hot/humid side but the things happening on the street would keep you distracted from the rising heat.  Cosplay, mini concerts, drag shows, street performances, parades and anything you could think of was there, not to mention the parade lasted over five hours, marking it as one of the longest parades in Toronto’s history.  No words can describe this ones in a life time experience, take a look at the pictures below and you will know what I am talking about 🙂  So no matter if you are gay or straight, this is an event everyone should attend 🙂  Happy pride 🙂

ASUKA fusion SUSHI

My cousin Suki and Carlos came for a surprise visit again 😛 so I took them to a place semi special and different from what they usually had (of course a place I had never been too) ASUKA fusion SUSHI, located right on main street Unionville, a very well known tourist area and it even has a patio so you can enjoy the nice weather out 🙂  Even they say it’s fusion, I think the food they have is pretty traditional, anyways, sushi/sashimi was pretty fresh, other food taste pretty average, price was alright, I would still recommend people to try it out mainly because of the patio.  A couple of things that I DON’T like this place is, there is only 1 waitress, after you make an order, you would prebably have to wait for a long long time for your dishes to come, that’s what happened to us :-p  Also if you want to sit inside the restaurant, you might want to make a reservation first because the inside is very very small 😉

P.S.  you can go to their website and get a 10% off couple for your dine in and take out orders, I found it out after I went so doh…

Springlicious 2014

I had been to summerlicious and winterlicious numbers of times but I had never heard or been to a springlicious before so this was a very good experience.  The festival was operated by Celebrate Old Downtown Community Corp a not-for-profit organization dedicated to spotlighting the downtown; their shops, restaurants, theatre, professional services, new park and ongoing progress taking place in the Q District.  Umm, not sure about this one, I felt like a lot of things were missing, music was alright, everything on the street were kind of boring, people were super friendly but you just know that they are all from the country side of the city.  If springlicious comes again next year and I have nothing to do, I might go, but like I said, it was a good experience 😛
