五榖雜糧 (Golden Harvest Northern Chinese Cuisine)

五榖雜糧 (Golden Harvest Northern Chinese Cuisine), is a new restaurant located in 黃金商場 (Golden Bright Plaza) at Chalmers and Highway 7, used to be 南園餐廳 (Richmond Court Restaurant).  As most people know, Northern Chinese Cuisine is usually very greasy and fattening but they claim their food is very healthy and less greasy than others so I had to give it a try 😛

When I was looking at the menu, I was surprised totally by the varieties they have and some were not even seen at other restaurants, we just couldn’t resist on ordering as many dishes as possible because everything just look soo yummy.  Just look at the pictures below and you know how many we ordered for just 2 adults and a kid 😛  As expected, didn’t really see a lot of oily stuffs even with the deep fried Taro and others, but less greasy means less taste, not saying the food was bad but as a result of eating healthy, everything taste a lot milder.  I would definately recommend this place because I like the idea of Northern Chinese Cuisine doesn’t really have to be greasy, plus they have a lot of things that others don’t have 😀

P.S. I was told it would be a 15 – 30 mins wait time during weekends so I went on a weekday instead 😉

This is why Elderly shouldn’t be driving…

A perfect reason why elderly shouldn’t be driving, take a look at what happened this afternoon…  Today’s weather was nice and sunny, it was just a perfect day out having lunch with my friends, right in the middle of my yummy feast, a phone call from my dad ruined my appetite.  A car accident that I would never thought would have happened and it did happen right outside of my house…  Got home and I saw this…

I was told that my dad was day dreaming while he was backing out the driveway and hit the bushes and trees of the other side of the road.  Called a tow truck and found out we needed to file a report to the police before doing anything else…  So we did and realized not only the car was damaged, but there were lamp poles and some misc. stuffs were broken in my neighbors front yard, so I had to go apologized and let them know we would take 100% responsibility of the total damages it costed.

Anyways, the car is finally towed away but when I looked at the recordings from my security cameras, it was horrifying…  Think about someone flooring on the gas while the car was going backwards, what if they hit a person instead of trees and bushes?  From what I saw, after the car hit the curb, the car was even going faster into my neighbors driveway, then bushes…  WTF was SHE thinking?!?!  I am just glad that I don’t have to pay for any of this…

Cyborg R.A.T 7 Gaming Mouse – Albino Edition

A lot of people know I had been playing World of Warcraft for a long long time, and had been playing Diablo 3 for a little while too, but what people didn’t know that I was using Wacom Graphire tablet to play for years…  Yes, it sounds crazy using a graphics tablet mouse to play games on a computer and that had made a huge damage on my wrist over the years too…  I still play but I don’t think I can take the pain anymore while playing, so I bought this Cyborg R.A.T 7 Gaming Mouse – Albino Edition. A gaming mouse that looks very robotic, 6400 dpi, programmable buttons and tons more.  Get it while quantity lasts because it is on sale at Canada Computers right now until the end of April.  Now would you excuse me and I need to play some Diablo 3 with this awesome gaming mouse, hehe

Easter Long Weekend 2013

Spring has come already but it still feels like winter in Toronto but this Easter Saturday was super sunny, tho it wasn’t warm enough but we just couldn’t wait to have a BBQ 😛  We had something I never tried, not sure if you guys ever had, look at those super size clams and salmon on cedar wood below.  Not to mention I didn’t know you could cook salmon this way either, a little seasoning, a few pieces of lemons, into the grill and in a few mins, Viola!!!

Just like every gatherings we had at Karen’s house, it was fun and filling, and of course for the kids, they were high on sugar, playing/running around like crazy the whole night…

Celebrating Karen’s Bday early @ TOMO SUSHI Japanese Restaurant

It has been kind of a tradition that me and my friends would treat the birthday person a nice meal and to celebrate Karen’s up coming birthday, we picked TOMO SUSHI.  The last time I was there was with my Aunties http://www.karlng.com/blog/?p=5522 and with 10 people this time we could order a whole lot more 😛  As usual, I always enjoy the moments with my friends no matter what we do and having nice dinners with them would just step a notch up 😛  From what I remembered from my last experience was that their food was really good and the presentation of food was quite amazing and over the years I have learned food presentation would definitely make food taste a lot better and ummm, just compare the pictures I took from months ago http://www.karlng.com/blog/?p=5522 and below… noticed anything different?  Food was still great… if I closed my eyes if you know what I mean…  Anyways, it was still super fun hanging out with friends and of course, wishing Karen a super happy birthday this coming Friday 😀

Not sure if I want to dine in there again… but take out is still good tho 😛
