Montreal

After so many years living in Toronto, can you believe this was my very first time being in Montreal?!  First thing I noticed when started entering the area, everything is in French (no surprise), the roads, traffic lights, buildings, even the parking meters are different, very interesting!!  I just couldn’t resist to start off doing one of my favorites, “shopping”, spent quite a long time hanging out downtown checking out those unique shops.  As I was also told, food taste a lot better no matter which restaurant I go in, went in a few random restaurants/cafes, of course I have proven it is not a myth at all and the price is very inexpensive as well.

Overall, I love Montreal, nothing is alike Toronto, feels like there is life in every corners, not to mention you can get Alcohol anywhere including gas station hehe.  I really don’t mind going back there for more visits but the long driving hours…  Might try flying or taking the train next time, could also be fun 🙂

Buskerfest 2014

This was probably the very last big event in Toronto during summer time, Buskerfest 2014, a very large section of Yonge st. was closed for this, I was there last year Buskerfest 2013 on Yonge st. and I was hoping to see more interesting things for this year. Compare to other big events in Toronto, this was probably the least interesting event.  As I expected, it very disappointing again, even less performers than last year and more booths for merchandise and food, place was still very packed but the fun factor was low.  Anyhow, it was really ok to spend an hour there to kill time if you have a place to park your car, but I am sure I will not go again next year 😛  Here are some of the pictures I took, P.S. you would probably notice some performers were the same from last year too 😛

Horseshoe Resort

A few weeks back Karen found a very good deal on a Horseshoe Resort package at Groupon.com $65 for a one-day Summer Access pass for two people plus one extra zipline ride per person ($114 value) I was soo excited because I never got a chance to try a LONG zipline ever 😛 Tho we went thru a few obstacles that was prevent us to go due to the weather condition on previous weekends but we finally went!!! First impression of the resort is quite huge, mini golf, rock climbing, treetop treking, pony ride, archery, trampoline, zipline, that hamster ball thingie and etc.

Of course the first thing we tried was the zipline because it was still kind of early and we didn’t know how bad the lineup was. Anyways, the lift up hill was a little scary, although it is the same one they use during winter time but it did feel higher 😛 Once we arrived the top, then walked about 5 mins and there it was, the zipline… We had to put on all the gear at the bottom of the zipline tower, then had to carry everything to the top of the tower, it was like a torture to me because, the gear we had on was heavy, a long walk up the tower and I could feel the tower was shaking when I got up higher… Over all zipline experience was amazing, tho I wished we didn’t have to walk up that tower 😛

Sadly, we were very disappointed about the archery, it was more like a kids thing and later, we also found the activities would suit kids more than adults. Didn’t really try rock climbing because I didn’t want to embarrass myself in front of all the people LOL Anyways, I would definitely go back for their treetop climbing because we didn’t get to try that, zipline was fun the first time, but ones you did it, I don’t think it’s fun anymore hehe This place is perfect for a family to spend a day but staying for a night I don’t think its worth the money really 🙂

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is the newest and most anticipated attraction in the heart of downtown Toronto, next to the CN Tower. As Canada’s largest indoor aquarium, we welcome you to the Waters of the World!  I wanted to visit this place for a quite a while but I never did because I was told the place is always packed with people.  Luckily, Karen and Marcus were willing to go on a weekday when it was less packed, so I went along.  My first impression of the place was, woah, the place is huge, and with all the people it was hard to breath 😛  Anyways, tons of sea life everywhere, lots of things to see, saw a of of things that I had never seen before like giant size crabs and lobsters, scared the shit of of me.  Sharks, stingrays and millions of different fishies swimming above our heads and surroundings.  Overall, it was a very good experience but the air quality was a little poor, considered with all the people around and the fishie smell you know 😛   Well, I would say this is something that you would only go once, hehe

If you are interested to see more pictures of this whole experience, I have them on my Facebook link here https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152543539655211.1073741838.689775210&type=1&l=b4adbdd50a

WorldPride 2014 Toronto

WorldPride 2014 Toronto, this was probably the biggest event that happened in Toronto in years, millions of people, tons of things to see and lots of fun.  I had never been to a pride in person, this was my first ever and I got to say, it was awesome!  A few streets were closed, Tho sun was strong, a little bit on the hot/humid side but the things happening on the street would keep you distracted from the rising heat.  Cosplay, mini concerts, drag shows, street performances, parades and anything you could think of was there, not to mention the parade lasted over five hours, marking it as one of the longest parades in Toronto’s history.  No words can describe this ones in a life time experience, take a look at the pictures below and you will know what I am talking about 🙂  So no matter if you are gay or straight, this is an event everyone should attend 🙂  Happy pride 🙂
