Fav Café (鍾意坊)

Yet, another really a good find, a small Hong Kong style restaurant located at unit 31, 280 West Beaver Creek, Richmond Hill (the same plaza as 黃金閣).  This is a fusion HK style restaurant which you don’t see very often in Toronto.  If you are getting bored of regular Chinese/ Hong Kong style, this is really a must try.  Although it was my first time there I already heard tons of good things about it.  Food was fantastic, very good presentation and taste, a bit higher price than others but its well worth it 😀  Just take a look at what I had for my lunch 印尼雞扒飯 :p

Well, I am not getting paid to post this but you really should try it 😀

Oliver and Jennifer’s Wedding

It was a total honor to be invited to Oliver and Jennifer’s Wedding.  Knew Oliver about 10 months ago when I got into his company, finally got a chance to meet Jennifer a few weeks ago and they are both very cool people 😀  I did help out to do some of the artwork for the wedding and I realized it was probably one of the biggest wedding I had ever seen when I was making their table list :p  Not to mention a formal lunch which was also a first for me as well 😀  Overall, it was a fun morning/afternoon, got a very rare chance meeting up with a few people that are related to work, a true blessing to see a new couple was born and good food :p  Anyways, here are some of the highlights snapshots.

LED toys!!!

As you probably read my previous pot lights post http://www.karlng.com/blog/?p=5537 , I had been searching for a perfect solution to save my energy bill. Other than GU10, I have also received a few other LED toys like E27 to replace my regular light bulbs and 2 LED camera lights (macro LED and 160 LED Video light) for my camera fun. After a few tests, glad I bought all those because they actually turned out pretty good, E27 is as bright as the a 40w light bulb and the camera lights are like super well made/bright. If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me 😀

XBOX 360 StarWars limited edition

ok, I have to admit, I was never a Microsoft fan, instead, I have been a Sony Fan all my life and mostly everything I own is Sony, PS3, netbook, Rolly, even my credit card :p etc.  But lately, too many people had been asking me to get an Xbox so I did, an XBOX 360 StarWars limited edition, a perfect timing.  Plus PS network sucks anyways and I LOVE to play online games with friends, of course mainly I really want to try out Kinect :p

After I opened it up, connected everything, I am actually very impressed and surprised about a lot of things.  Firstly, whatever you connect to this Xbox or even power on, it talks back to you in a sound of R2D2, the made is super nice with aluminium top and bottom and the colour combination is very StarWars :p  Anyways, so far so good, hopefully, this toy will last longer than my Wii :p

No more Halogen GU10

Most of my friends know that I have tons of pot lights in my house and pot lights (Halogen GU10) uses a lot of energy (at least 35W each).  I was always shocked every time when I looked at my energy bill, so my parents and I usually don’t turn any of them on because of that.  But some time ago, I was introduced to some new LED GU10 that uses as low as 5W power and it’s even brighter than halogen.  Although I have tried a few different brands LEDs, none of them is as bright as the ones I finally got (500 lumens), it’s about time to step into the new technology :p.

I thought about posting a picture of the final result but you can’t really tell the big difference unless you see it in person, so instead I am posting an aftermath picture, the leftover halogen GU10 bulbs :p  This is a picture of what happened after over 100+ bulbs were switched into LED bulbs 😀

So if anyone wants some halogen GU10s, feel free to let me know 😀  Oh, and you might also want to ask, how much I spent on my LEDs, the answer is “don’t ask” :p  But if you are interested to change all your halogen lights to LEDs, let me know and I will give you a price 😀

This is what I have replaced, uses 5w of power and 500 lumens, only about $10 each 😀
