Richmond Hill Ribfest 2012

About a year ago, I went to the Markham ribfest, unfortunately I missed the one this year which was 2 weeks ago and I would be very disappointed if I missed the Richmond Hill ribfest at Richmond Green Park.  Though the size of this is smaller than the one in Markham but with 6 professional rib teams would be enough to fill our stomachs, after all, we could only try maybe a couple at a time :p  We got there at about noon and the first thing I went for was a deep fried blooming onion because I hadn’t had one for soo long, of course I would not miss out the ribs and pulled pork 😀  Anyways, my pictures below would tell you the rest of the story 😀

O Mei

Although I had not been going to cooking lessons for a while, I am still very connected with my Aunties (cooking class classmates).  Joyce and Debbie are 2 of my top favorite aunties, so of course I would have to organized a dinner gathering to celebrate their birthday this week.  O Mei, located on 420 Hw# 7 Richmond Hill, just right at the MacDonald’s plaza.  A restaurant that has been around for a long long while, I have heard a lot of good words about their dinner varieties especially their lobsters dishes but never experienced it, so I thought I should definitely give this a try.

There was no doubt that the first thing we ordered was a 9+ lbs lobster/5 (龍蝦五吃), Chicken with 2 tastes (鳳雙飛), Taiwanese oyster (台式生蠔) and some misc. dishes.  It was totally a weight gaining experience because everything tasted and looked so good so I just kept on stuffing myself :p  Plus, because Debbie and Christine know the manager, we got soo many varieties of dessert for free…  At the very end, we cleaned out everything on the table, stuffed ourselves with a few pounds heavier belly and left the restaurant with a big smile on our faces 😀  2 big thumbs up!!!  Definitely a Chinese restaurant to consider if you are looking for a good Chinese diner even on weekdays if you know what I mean 🙂

DAHN (Korean Cuisine)

To celebrate Cheryl’s up coming birthday next week, we decided to treat her a fine Korean dinning at DAHN (Korean Cuisine), located on Yonge St. just south of 407.  This Korean restaurant is a little different from the other ones because they provide you with tons of private dinning rooms, if you make a reservation with more than 5/6 people, they would let you dine in a room with your own privacy.  Food is also very good but in my opinion, I like Bulgogi Brothers a little better but still, it is way way better than a lot of the Koreans restaurants out there already 😀  Unfortunately, there is one thing that we were not 100% satisfied, everything we ordered took a long time, even beverages…  Other than that, everything is good so if you are looking for dinning place with a little privacy, this is actually a very good place to have a dinner party 😀

Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast, a very classic cartoon from Disney that had become an award winning  Broadway musical which I was hoping to see for sometime.  When I heard that they were coming to Toronto again, me and my friends booked the tickets right away no doubt :p  The show was at the beautiful Four Seasons Center, a new/modern theatrical experience for all ages.  I was totally amazed by all the powerful singers performing the whole musical and the stunning settings of every scenes.  I would definitely recommend this for everyone, it’s a must see performance out of most musicals out there, a big thumbs up!!!

P.S.  Photography of any kind is prohibited during a performance. Audiotape and videotape recordings are forbidden under copyright law. If anyone is found photographing or taping the performance, their photos or recordings will be deleted and they will be asked to leave the theatre without a ticket refund. :p

Peter and Kelly’s Wedding day

The big day, Peter and Kelly’s wedding and it was really an honor to be the groomsmen for this big event.  The whole day was perfect, sun was shining and everything was right on our schedule.  The best man Sunny and I gathered up at Peter’s house, picked up the bride and bridesmaids, then headed to Edwards garden for our photo shoot.  Tho the weather was super nice but the heat from the sun was killing us especially we had our suits on :p  After 2 hours of photo shooting, we headed back to Peters house for some Chinese tradition marriage ceremony stuffs then a 2 hour break.  God, I was exhausted and needed that badly although I didn’t do much :p  After all the hard stuffs in the morning, everything was very simple, the wedding ceremony and dinner was in Markham event center, so we only had to stay in one place, made everything a lot easier.  Overall, an unforgettable fun night, great MC, music and food, thanks to all the helpers to make this event so fantastic and of course, congratulation to Peter and Kelly of their next chapter in life 😀

Here is a few highlights of the day below and the last 3 food pictures were taken from my smart phone, enjoy!

P.S.  I wasn’t holding the camera 100% of the time because I was being photographed too BTW :p
